윤대원은 서울을 기반으로 활동하는 미디어 아티스트다. 그는 춤과 행위에 대한 관심으로부터 출발해, 가상 신체와 몸짓, 그리고 (비)접촉 퍼포먼스를 이용한 작업을 전개하고 있다. 주로 비디오, 인터렉티브, 퍼포먼스 등을 다루며, 디지털 미디어가 자아내는 동시대의 현상과 내재된 감정을 신체 이미지로 표현한다. 이를 통해 실재하는 몸과 디지털 신체의 경계, 그리고 그 안에서 변화하는 우리의 태도와 지각 방식에 관해 탐구함으로써 "우리는 지금 무엇으로 감각·지각하며, 어떻게 관계 맺고 있는가?"에 관해 묻는다.
Daewon Yun is a media artist based in Seoul. He explores virtual bodies, gestures, and (non)contact performances, starting from his interest in dance and physical movement. His artworks span video, interaction, and performance, using digital media to express contemporary phenomena and underlying emotions through bodily imagery.
Ultimately, by investigating the boundaries between the physical and digital body —and how our attitudes and perceptions shift within this space— he asks, "How do we sense and perceive the world today, and how do we connect with one another?"
